The Sword of Orion .
This image was taken on three separate evenings under very clear sky conditions .Stars was visible down to about magnitude 5.3 .
I was using a 135mm lens piggybacked on a ten inch reflector with narrow band Astronomik filters attached to the front of the lens . This was mounted on a Vixen Atlux mount. .I captured 60 second and three minute sub frames and combined them with matching dark frames and flat field frames to reduce the effect of noise and vignetting in the final image .
The exposure time was 114 minutes using a H A filter , 103 minute using a S11 filter , 92 minutes using an O111 filter , 41 minutes using a blue filter, 11 minutes using a red filter and 12 minutes using a green filter.
A total exposure time is 6 hours and 13 minutes .
This image of the Sword of Orion is a composition of data combined using a 135mm lens and data from an 80mm refractor and 100mm refractor .
