Barnard's Loop, M78 and the Horsehead Nebula.
This image was taken under clear sky conditions with a four day old crescent moon to contend with and local light pollution . Stars were visible down to about magnitude 5.
I captured 3 minute sub frames with matching dark frames and combined them with flat field frames to reduce the effect of noise and vignetting in the final image.
I piggyback an Atik 383L mono CCD camera on my 10 inch reflector, a 135mm lens with Astronomik filters attached to the front of the lens. This was mounted on a Vixen Atlux mount.
The exposure time was 90 minutes using a H Alpha filter, 30 minutes using an S11 filter, 30 minutes using an O111 filter and 10 minutes using each RGB filter.
This image of Banands loop, M78 and the Horsehead nebula contains combined data from a 135mm lens, 80mm and 100mm refractors.
This mosaic composition contains combined data from 135mm lens, 80mm and 100mm refractors.
